Sligo Greenway Meeting In Charlestown
Postponed to the 14th December
There will be a Sligo Greenway meeting in Charlestown, on Tuesday night 7th December at 8pm in Walsh’s pub. Sligo Greenway Co Op have recently launched their Sligo Greenway Vision Document, which can be viewed here.
Sligo Greenway Co op have been promoting the establishment of a Greenway on the disused railway line between Colooney and Charlestown for the last 5 years. We are now seeing the efforts bear fruit as Sligo County Council is applying for funding to create the Greenway. As part of our ongoing interaction with various communities along the line a meeting is being held in Walsh’s pub Charlestown on Tuesday December 7th at 8 pm. This is a really important development for Charlestown and surrounding areas. This meeting gives a chance for local people to discuss and support the imminent arrival of the Greenway.

The Sligo greenway will eventually connect to the proposed East Mayo greenway where they meet at Charlestown. The Sligo greenway also connects to the Sligo Enniskillen greenway which was also announced in recent months. These projects, when completed will be a huge transformation on tourism and quality of life for many communities in the whole western region.
