Consultants Appointed For Collooney To Charlestown Greenway

Sligo Cllr Marie Casserly announces Consultants Appointed For Collooney To Charlestown Greenway at the beginning of March last. The announcement comes following the allocation of a further €400,000 by Transport Infrastructure Ireland to develop the greenway. This is great news as ARUP Consultancy have also been appointed to the SNLR Greenway project which will run along the route from Collooney to Enniskillen in Co Fermanagh.

Making the announcement last week, Marie said,

Great news! ARUP Consultancy have been appointed to progress the Sligo Greenway Project – Collooney to Bellaghy – Statutory Phase in order to secure planning and get the project ready for construction. Well done to everyone who has worked to get this fantastic project to this stage. It will be a game changer for the entire North West region.
In an interview with Midwest News, Marie explained the benefits that this Greenway will bring to all the communities along the route from Collooney to Charlestown.

Independent councillor Marie Casserly says this greenway will provide greater tourism opportunities for the North-West region, and will be able to connect to the proposed SLNCR greenway from Sligo to Enniskillen.

Councillor Casserly told Midwest Radio’s Alannah Nolan that not only will the greenway generate tourism in the region, but will also allow locals to enjoy a safe, scenic route to explore what the region has to offer.
